Junior Youth & Honors Orchestras

Youth Music Monterey County’s Honors Orchestra & Junior Youth Orchestra provide students an exceptional opportunity to study and perform the masterpieces of symphonic literature with other young musicians from across Monterey County.  Each orchestra presents three concerts per season at the Sunset Center in Carmel.  Our program includes weekly rehearsals with conductor Farkhad Khudyev, sectional coachings, and masterclasses with guest artists.  In addition, students enrolled in our orchestras may choose to participate in one or more of our three chamber ensembles at no additional cost.  These include the Chamber Players, the Brass Choir, and the Woodwind Ensemble.

Highlights of the 2016-2017 Orchestra season include perfromances Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, works by Brahms, Dvořák, Bartók, Berlioz, Mozart, and guests artists from the Atlanta Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and a Chamber Players masterclass with famed Piano Trio,Trio Solisti.
