Music and Arts Education Advocacy
These pages are intended to help generate awareness about the current state of music and arts education within the YMMC community. As many of you know, music education has endured unprecedented cuts to funding in many parts of Monterey County (and throughout California) related to the state's fiscal deficits and the implementation of No Child Left Behind, which has resulted in the depletion or elimination of music education programs in many of our community's public schools. The following links will help you keep up-to-date on this critical situation, as well as provide you with various ways to contribute to the fight to restore and preserve this extremely valuable educational avenue for generations of Monterey County residents.
